enefits of aluminum
extrusions include:
Cost-effective: Die setup is less costly and time-consuming than with other fabrication methods. Your design comes to market faster.
Versatile: Today's extrusion technology can create intricate shapes, with hollows, thin walls (down to 0.020") , fastening faces, and other complex features integral to the part with no additional assembly.
Machine
tolerances: Obtain tight dimensional tolerance with no
machining operations.
Near-net shape: Start with an extrusion close to the desired form. Then machine or forge portions of it to achieve final configuration. Extrusions incur less cost and material waste, compared to machining from solid stock.
Joining: You can join aluminum extrusions to other pieces by welding, soldering, brazing, fasteners, adhesives, and other common methods. Extrusions can be designed to interlock together or mate with other pieces.
Aluminum: Aluminum combines strength with light weight, has excellent thermal and electrical properties, and can take a variety of finishes.
